South Indian weddings are known for their simplicity and sobriety. Their weddings are quite distinct from north Indian wedding in customs, rituals and traditions. From pre-wedding ceremonies to post wedding rituals, everything is different in their own way. The biggest difference between them is that the latter take place during the day instead of at night. If we talk about their wedding venue, then it is usually a hall where the wedding Mandap includes plantain trees tied to gatepost, rangoli near the entrance and festoons made of mango leaves.

In the wedding ceremony the bride and groom exchange garlands when they are lifted onto the shoulders of their respective uncles. Their Kanyadan and Mangalsutra rituals are same but they are conducted in a different manner. For south Indian wedding, the wedding stationery is also organized according to their themes or style. The  elegant South Indian wedding invitations are designed in various languages like Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada to give a rich look to the bridal ceremony.

Even for south Indian weddings, the wedding invitations are specially created with eyes catching colors and custom symbols which reflect their culture and tradition. They have their unique styles and symbols to represent their customs or rituals in the wedding invitations. So, South Indians have their own rituals followed before and after the wedding that look very vibrant.
